Sad News - Justin Wilson & Jimmy Massey

INDYCAR announced that driver Justin Wilson, who enjoyed success in multiple motorsports series during a two-decade professional career, died today from a head injury sustained in the Verizon IndyCar Series race Aug. 23 at Pocono Raceway. He was 37. Wilson was struck by debris from a single-car crash on Lap 180 of the 200-lap race on the 2.5-mile triangular oval. Wilson was attended to by the Holmatro Safety Team and airlifted to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown, Pa. Wilson is survived by his wife, Julia, and two daughters. His younger brother Stefan is an accomplished race car driver who has competed in the Verizon IndyCar Series and Indy Lights. Funeral arrangements are pending.   • Sad News - Jimmy Massey: James Massey, 86, passed away on August 21, 2015 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was a Legends NASCAR driver during the 1950s and '60s. James enjoyed racing, working on his race cars and spending time with his racing friends. He was the former owner of Pleasant Grove Esso and remained a mechanic after retirement. Massey ran in the Sprint Cup Series from 1955-1964, running 108 races, winning 3 in the NASCAR Convertible Series.(see full obituary / services at The Times News)(8-25-2015)
