Thompson Speedway Monster Mini Results Sept.4

What a beautiful bluebird New England sky to take in some great short track racing. The SK division came out first then the fan popular Monster Mini's.
The #s were drawn and hard charger #3 Steve Michalski and Eddie Field driving his late brothers famous#18 led the roar of the green flag. Two cautions would prevent of completing a single lap. On the restart Michalski's chariot sputtered and lost power as he coasted to the infield which intern opened up a clear path for Pascoag R.I. #24 Joey Baxter, not brother Chad in the #21, not the 2012 championship race car.
This was the shortest event on the racing card of 15 laps with a decent car count of 17 race cars.
The field picked up the RPM'S and we now had a race. Baxter showed passing strategy by using the low groove but was must much faster in the high groove.#33 Eric Bourgeois , former track champion was the first to put it to the floorboards but could not catch the #24. Field stayed close and #97 Dave Trudeau was steadily moving up and sizing up his next move. On lap 13 Baxter did everything in racing resume to hold off Trudeau to no avail. Trudeau revved it up to make his final run and it worked in the low groove in turn three and four to gain the lead in the closing 2 laps. Baxter did not give away any free ground and Trudeau had to earn it and the two Class Act racers went side by side for two laps with Respect to the delight of the educated Thompson Speedway race Fans.
Dave Trudeau pays his dues and competes at Waterford and is on the New England Mini Tour also Joe Baxter is currently 5th in the New England Mini Tour, Chad Baxter is now 11th in the Series with two fewer races of these exciting competitive race cars. # 85 Mike Veins another former track champion was involved in the first mayhem of the night when everyone was a little rusty and did not give an inch of race track space. P.S. I thought Green race cars were suppose to be un-lucky !
Steve Michalski mechanical early exit !
