New England Truck Series ( Conduct Box )after the Waterford Race 6-28-14

Waterford/Speedbowl New England Truck Series race had some of the most brutal antics on the race track of the season. The series is very competitive and growing and now it has to be self disciplined.
The previous races were a indication of the tensions brewing and at the pre-race drivers meeting the touring group told the track officials that they would handle all of any potential problems in-house.
Most die-hard short track race fans who have a computer have either seen the horrific collision when the truck went on its side half way down the track or have heard about it.
Fortunately no injuries occurred, but track damage did, which delayed the event for everyone.
The statement was handed down late last night by series director Lorraine Pard.
On behave of the New England Truck Series and it's drivers, I would like to apologize for the rough driving that took place at the Waterford Speedbowl Saturday night. This is not the conduct we expect from the participants in our series. We are committed to putting on a great show for our fans, and we failed in that commitment.
As a result of Saturdays events, the following penalties have been issued by the Race Director Chris Austill and the acting Race Director Mark Woodcock.

# 2 Duane Noll,      Over aggressive driving during the feature event.
Loss of one practice session at the next attended race
Probation at the next two events attended in 2014

#42 Frank Dumicich Jr. Over aggressive driving during feature event.
Loss of one practice session at the next attended race
Probation at the next two events attended in 2014

#90 Allen Coates    Entering the Track Surface without consent from Track or NETS Officials.
Loss of one practice session at the next attended race.
Probation at the next event attended in 2014

#8 Tom Metcalf     Competing in on-track activities without a valid 2014 NETS Drivers License.
Loss of Points and Purse earned on 6/28/14
Suspension from driving in any NETS Event until 9-1-2014
                               Probation until December 31, 2014

These penalties were issued based on the escalating severity of the incidents throughout the race and the potential for injury to the drivers and the track staff. Rough driving will not be tolerated in the New England Truck Series, and moving forward we will aggressively police unnecessary contact between drivers to ensure better racing and safety for all involved.
Lorraine Pard,  New England Truck Series Director
